The prompt is YUMMY, and that brings to mind all the foods I like to make from scratch when the weather is cold.
- Fresh Turkey roasted in my special orange butter basting sauce with home-made sausage stuffing & candied sweet potatoes
- Pineapple Upside Down Cake – served warm – the melted brown sugar glistening
- Chicken & Dumplings – tender boneless chicken swimming in home-made gravy with buttermilk biscuits & sliced carrots
- Macaroni & Cheese with Barbecue Chopped Meat- Saute chopped beef or turkey, drain the fat, mix in just enough of your favorite barbecue sauce recipe to coat & mix into prepared mac & cheese.
- Pernil – Shoulder of Pork Roasted Spanish Style with Garlic & Adobo. A typical ten pound shoulder spends about 6 hours in the oven at a low temperature; it melts in your mouth.
- Swedish Meatballs – I could about oh say a bazillion of them
And while I’m at it here’s some scents I find quite YUMMY :
- New Babies
- Clothes Washed in Downy
- Any Kind of Cookie Baking
- Lavender Bubble Bath
- Hot Dogs on the Grill
- The beach on a crowded day – forty kinds of suntan lotion mixed with heat and salt spray – awesome
- Brut – my first ever boyfriend wore it – and yes, I still love it a million years later
Might as well finish up with some things that feel YUMMY:
- New Underwear!
- My Blue Comforter – I roll myself up in it like a burrito.
- Clean Sheets
- Snuggling

New underwear, and especially new socks are the best. Fresh out of the dryer even better. Funny you mention the smells of a crowded beach. I always try to hit the beach just after dawn, or right before dusk to avoid large crowds. Yet, the scent created by the sun beating down on a multitude of varied sun tan lotions certainly has its charm. I need to get myself someplace warm, stat!
Nice post! Think I might go out and buy some new socks tomorrow.

Mmmm… rolling yourself up like a burrito in down comforter, that is yummy. I love reading the different foods people find yummy. Yummy food is often comfort food isn’t it? Nice, mouthwatering post.

Yes, yes, a yummy list! I felt like I got to “experience” each of your items, and you made me remember my favorite scent (also a cologne worn by an ex!).
You’ve inspired me to make chicken and dumplings for dinner tonight! Thanks, Frances!

Oh god. The pineapple upside down cake sounds soooo good, as do the meatballs. So, say someone isn’t much of a baker, is the pineapple cake horridly difficult?
