Just made it!
The topic is DREAM JOURNEY.
I was a fan of the original Star Trek series, but have only watched one of the new episodes.
It was quite an episode. Data, a very pale android, and Captain Picard went on a trip via the “holodeck.”
NOTE: New series Trekkies please forgive me if I am getting the terminology and names all wrong.
And I thought how great is that? You pick a location, a year or an event you want to visit, and bang you’re there.
If I had access to the holodeck I would visit:
The Roaring Twenties so I could do the Charleston, and drink bath tub gin in speakeasies. I’d be wearing a fabulous cloche hat and fur coat while zooming around in my Stutz Bearcat.
The Fifties so I could walk neck with my boyfriend in a convertible at the drive-in! I’d be wearing a poodle skirt, cashmere sweater and saddle shoes. And I’d appear on American Bandstand.
The Sixties so I could be in the audience of the Ed Sullivan show the night the Beatles were on.
I wouldn’t go into the future, some things are best left a mystery.
For more scribbles please go here.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I don’t know much about Star Trek, just what I know from our shared memories. But that sounds cool to have a place to visit other times and places.

Hi Frances,
I’m not a trekky, but “Gem” my hubby is. However, your post is so cool about your dream journey and so ironic because I was at a Roaring 20′s Arts Fundraiser on Sat. dressed as a flapper! I lost my balance trying to do the Charleston, leaned on my husband during part of it. It was still fun because we LOVE to dance and it was all for a good cause. (I’m considering posting parts of the outfit, headless on my blog…) The funds raised were for all the arts: music, writing, dance, and visual arts. I did design flapper jewelry to wear, but well, that story will be on my blog in the future about it nearly becoming an accidental weapon, since the necklace was so long!
Oh, me too about the 50′s: sounds so cool. I wasn’t around then, but hubby and I LOVE to jitterbug.I would have loved to have seen the Beatles live. How exciting to have been able to see their debut. Great dream journey post!
I’d want to go to the Garden of Eden to see if Eve really gave Adam the apple and if that dope really took a bite.
I used to really like the older star treks, but I could never get into any of the newer versions of the show…
I was VERY touched to have been missed for this SS
I love Star Trek and always thought that was a cool room. You chose fun times
I loved the old Star tek. Once I believed to be in love with Spock! I like your post.
