It’s always been a popular question and writing prompt.
Yesterday it was Ten On Tuesday’s topic: ’10 Things You’d Buy If You Had a Million
Dollars’
My husband and I were actually talking about what we’d do with a million dollars just the other night. The lottery numbers were being posted on the news, and then they annouced that the Mega Million jackpot was 12 million.
We both want to buy our daughter and her husband a two-family house. This way they could rent out one of the floors, and always have a source of income.
The rest would go into the bank. We could have the interest to live on for the rest of our lives, and then leave it to our daughter.
We wouldn’t move, because the location of our shoebox sized apartment is perfect for us.
But we’d definitely take some trips to warmer places when the cold New York winter winds blow.
What can I tell you - I’m no mink coat and diamonds girl.
Though things could get crazy at the electronics/computer stores!
What’s on your million dollar shopping list?

Very interesting. My mind always swirls when it’s presented with money of a crazy amount. A million dollars would go a long, long way in our family, too. I’ll post about it today & link back to you. Thanks for sharing!

I would combine my ideas with my tendency to supprise and get my ideas going and awarded to people in need and to our earth in need. I think that will keep me bussy and happy for a while

Great question. My immediate answer would be to go someplace warm until the snow melts, but I’m sure that would change if I spent any amount of time thinking about it.

quit work. buy a house, probably in charleston, sc, one of the homes on the battery downtown, and a beach house on the isle of palms. buy a car. travel to australia. Bank and invest most of it, and live off the interest. Do something I enjoy like rescue animals, vs. making others rich and making pennies.

I played this meme too and was atonished at how much I did want. Makes me seem so petty and materialistic, doesn’t it?

How sweet that you would buy your daughter something like that.
I would like a bigger house – but nothing too grand. My house is only 900 square feet – which considering you live in NY you may have a lot less square footage than me – but I’d like to have something a little bigger.
Other than that I would use some of it to make my mom’s life more comfortable, and the rest I’d put in the bank.
Fun thing to think about on a rainy afternoon.

Hmmmm! Knowing myself, I’d want to buy lotsa books, animes, mangas, clothes and anything else. Then, I’d just be the miser I am and not use anything at all

My eight year old has this as a writing assignment this week, in fact. Said she’d either buy “freedom from school” or ANOTHER million. How she figured she’d do either, I don’t think I want to know
Everyone says they’d like to be rich, but when you see what the lottery does to most of the people who win big, it doesn’t make me want to buy any tickets. Truthfully, I’d settle for enough to pay off our consumer debt (mostly fun things like dental bills I had to put on the credit card) and our mortgage. Any leftover I’d probably add to the girls college accounts. Because even if JR THINKS she’s getting freedom from school, college is very much in her future!
