tax day, philosophy, a new blog – the week in review

It’s an absolutely gorgeous Friday here in the Tri-State area. The week went by far too quickly.

But then again isn’t that always the way?

Sunday I went to the Thalia Theater to see
Examined Life Philosophy is in the Streets

Add this one top your list. One of the few times I wish I hadn’t gone to a movie alone. You want to discuss it as soon as the credits start to roll.

There were actually two movies playing that day. The other was a Swedish vampire film. I was going to stay and see it, but then decided to hang out and write a bit in the theater lounge. Ended up seeing it later in the week, but will be reviewing it on my new blog. Yes, she closed two and opened a new one for favorties and reviews.

What can I tell you – it’s the way I roll.

I hit the Main Post Office on Tax Deadline night to see what was up. All the online filing has cut down the crowds and companies handing out samples of anti-acids, aspirin etc. etc. One year I won 50 bucks on a scratch off that some company was handing out.

Staples set up their free photocopying booth, which always draws a grateful crowd. They even had kids flipping signs – check it out.

I call this one portrait of a tax payer.

The Post Office set up a truck for quick stamp purchases.

The Mr. Softee truck did a lot of business; nothing like a soft serve with sprinkles to chase the tax blues away.

After I finished at the post office I swung by Macy’s Flower Show.

You’ll find more pics in my previous post.

Everyone have a fantabulous Friday.

I’ll post the new blog’s address as soon asap

  1. if only we had some ice cream being served just outside our post office! you lucky NYC dog!!

  2. I went to our post office at 10.30 that morning and it was deserted. Not an ice cream in sight and definitely no smiles. I almost wondered if I’d got the wrong day. That’s country-living for you, I s’pose.

I love the pictures of the Macy’s Flower Show! If only I was still an employee…Not. But they are stunning.

Is it raining where you are? In Rockland it feels like Winter’s settling in. I need an umbrella.

    Bella :)

  3. ive never seen anything like that! I hear about the rush, but ive never seen it! how interesting!
