The Double Stealing Meme

The Double Stealing Meme – which I stole from Janie at Colloquium

1. If you could turn back the hands of time to correct one wrongdoing, what event would you choose and why?

When I was in my early twenties I said something very cruel to my Uncle Peter.   He passed away in 2003.  If I could I would go back and undo it.   Every once in a while when I think of him, the scene plays over on my mind’s screen, and I think – Why did you say that Frances?

2. Are you one for tradition? If so, what traditions do you strongly believe in? If not, what makes tradition hypocritical?

I’m not much for tradition, but I do love the whole turkey thing at Thanksgiving, holiday windows and the tree at Rockefeller Center during Christmas.

3. You were taking part in an event and you had to crossplay, who would you crossplay as and why?

Shah Rukh Khan.  Being an over the top hero in a Bollywood film, that ends with me leading 300 people in a wild dance, is one of my secret fantasies.

4. If you only had one day left to live, how would you spend your last day? Would you be tempted to live fatally if you knew you were to die the next day, and if so, what extreme measures would you take

I’d forget my fear of airplanes, and hop a first class flight to Boston, which is the closest major city to my daughter’s home.  Hey, I’m dying the next day right? So need to be frightened of getting killed on that flight.  From Boston,  I’d limo down to darling daughter’s house, drinking champagne and nibbling my favorite treats along the way.  Remember dying the next day, so credit cards bills are no longer an issue.

I’d take her and son-in-law out for a great lunch, and then on to the mall for the ultimate shopping spree.  On the way back to the airport I’d tell them how much I love them, and then back to New York, where I’d have a quiet dinner with the hubster before he heads out to work.  He works nights.  I’d spend some time would be spent making phone calls to dear friends, and preparing a to-do list for daughter. She would be the one to handle everything the next day for her dad.

Before retiring for the night, I’d make sure all my favorite photos of family and friends would be surrounding my futon.

And then I would quietly chant till I drifted away.

5. What are your top five sinful materialistic items, ones you’d expect from others, including those closest to you? Why are each in the position they are in?

My most sinfully materialistic items are my cellphones.  I have three separate lines complete with Internet.  My current Sprint phone is a Lotus, which I highly recommend.  My other two lines are T-Mobile.  On one line I use an unlocked  16GB IPhone; the other line is a Sidekick Slide.

  1. Great answers. I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but, your husband would have to pay that credit card bill that you run up before you died. Unless the laws have changed enough so the spouse or significant other wouldn’t have to pay.

I can’t believe you have 3 cell phones. I barely use the one I have.

Hope all is well. Have a great day.
