Coming at you from the 5 bus. This morning I got one of those drivers who pretends not to hear a cheery ‘good morning.’ Not only did he not respond, he actually stiffens up; that’s a lot of energy to expend just to be a jerk.

But let’s move on shall we?

It’s Monday morning here in New York, and just as I was approaching the bus stop it began to rain a little. Fortunately the 5 pulled in within two minutes, so I didn’t get wet. My super fine hair is just like a baby’s, if three raindrops hit it I look like a drowned rat.

Before I started this post I sorted through my e-mail. That’s one of the great things about these smart phones, you can get so much done while riding a bus or waiting in line.

When I was in my teens I went to the movies all the time. We didn’t have pay-per-view, DVDs and cable showed the same four movies over and over. We also didn’t have the ability to buy tickets in advance online.

You had to go and stand online to buy your ticket, and then stand on the ticket holders line. When new movies with potential opened up you expected to be online for at least two hours.

Back then I used to read on lines. I would stop in at Waldenbooks before the movie, buy a new hardcover for 12.95 or so, and then read it while waiting.

The longest wait ever was 4 hours. That was for Caligula. Half of Manhattan stood online 4 hours for that one. It was an X rated movie playing at major theaters. Guess the major theater thing made it okay ;-)

Almost at my stop. Good the rain stopped.

Back at you in a bit.
Peace to the people.
