This past weekend I caught up with some of what’s going on at the Natural History Museum: The World’s Largest Dinosaurs & Frogs “a chorus of color”

I was delighted that photography was allowed at both exhibits – here’s a few snaps.

“If you wait until the frogs and toads have croaked their last to take some action, you’ve missed the point.” Kermit the Frog

Leaf Mimics – The pointed snout, projections over the eyes, and ridged “veins” running down the back help them disappear among leaf litter on the forest floor. The frogs lie motionless and ambush unsuspecting prey, including insects, spiders, crabs, scorpions, lizards, and other frogs.

I haven’t posted in a few days. It’s been kind of busy, but all is well. Let’s see what’s in the camera – always a good way to find way out what Frances has been up and into.

Last week I finally got around to visiting The Museum of The City of New York. I ended up becoming a member, and attending two of the evening lectures.

The name Annapoorneshwari means “Feeding one and all”. I shot this on a trip to temple Saturday night.

The number 5. One of my favorite rides. This bus goes from The Washington Bridge down to the South Ferry and back again. If you catch it going downtown you’ll go through The Upper West Side, Central Park South, down Fifth Avenue, through Midtown, The Flatiron, Chelsea, Greenwich Village and The Lower East Side. It’s a tour of Manhattan for $2.25!

I posted about Echo earlier in the week. She’s quite mysterious by the light of the night don’t you think?

meet Sushi the Indian Running Duck

Sushi and I met while I was photostrolling through Riverside Park this afternoon. He was lunching on a bench with his owner and some friends. He’s 2 years old, from California, and doesn’t mind being admired & photographed.

Here’s a few more shots. The yellow flowers are magnolias.

So Sunday past I strolled down to the AMNH (American Museum of Natural History). It’s been one of my favorite places to go since my grade school years. This week I walked through the amazing Body and Spirit: Tibetan Medical Drawings, and a truly spectacular photo exhibition – Highway of an Empire: The Great Inca Road.

After I left the museum I headed for Central Park, even though it was cold, damp and overcast. I wasn’t the only one.

It is officially spring, but it sure hasn’t been spring-like. Regardless NYCers were out walking, biking, shotting photos even napping on the grass – in heavy jackets!

Hopefully next Sunday will be the warm and sunny. Whatever the weather I’ll be out there.

The Museum of Natural History has been a favorite of mine since childhood.

Isn’t amazing how the trunk of this ivy has wound itself through bannister?

I thought I heard a call for help.

Chef A continues to sweetly torture me with her fresh baked goodies. I admire but don’t buy. **sob
